Begin Your Journey with Christ
This is Jay’s page. It begins with a call to Christ. It gives an introduction to beginning a new life with Christ and will probably be a short paragragh. The whole point of this website is to draw people to Christ. They may not know where to begin or what to expect when they take the first step to opening their hearts to Christ. They may feel alone and confused as oftentimes people do when they reach a point of despair, loneliness, or hopelessness. Then beneath Jay will bullet point or number the steps he suggests one should take on this journey.
STEP 1
PRAYER & OPENING YOUR HEART
Just typing text to show a suggested format. I’m sure this title makes me sound very Baptist however, I can’t imagine how one begins their journey without first speaking to the Lord and acknowledging that they want and accept his forgiveness and inviting Jesus to be a part of their life from this moment forward. Wow, very Jimmy Swaggart of me but it is very personal whether praying alone or with a member of Christ Church. It begins in the heart.
STEP 2
CONNECT
Just typing in some content for layout purposes. Maybe connecting with someone at Christ Church might be a second step in learning how God has placed people here as his disciples to help others on their journey.
STEP 3
READING SCRIPTURE
Jesus said, “If a man loves me, he will keep my words and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.” Reading scripture is how we show God we love him and want his presence in our lives. Reading God’s word is unlike anything else that can be read. It is alive, active, and performing. Jesus said, “The words I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life.” He also said, “I will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on me.” This doesn’t mean you will always be happy and never face any problems but it means that once you establish your friendship with him, you will learn and understand how his friendship will comfort you and guide you through any situation.
STEP 4
PRAYER
Praying is just speaking to God from our hearts. The more we pray, the more we are open to receiving a response whether through his Word or others that he has placed around us in our spiritual journey. This builds a sense of trust in God, knowing that he hears you always and that if you seek help you will find it, if you knock the door will be opened, and if you ask you will receive. Communication with God is essential to growing a relationship with Christ.
STEP 5
